5 steps to protect your WhatsApp with fingerprint or Face ID on your iPhone

[Image: whatsapp-fbfeed.jpg]Apple iPhone users can now choose to set up Face ID or Touch ID to open the WhatsApp app on their device

WhatsApp for iOS already allows you to protect the chats with fingerprint or Face ID on your iPhone. We will explain how to activate this function step by step to keep your conversations safe and safe from prying eyes.

Last October, the guys from WABetaInfo, the portal specialized in the news of the popular instant messaging app, already announced that WhatsApp for iPhone could be blocked with Touch ID or Face ID in the future. And they were right: the platform has released a new update, which in particular is version 2.19.20, in which the function to protect WhatsApp with fingerprint or Face ID is now available.

Thanks to this feature, your chats will now have two layers of security. On the one hand, the smartphone’s blocking code, and if for some reason the intruder who has physical access to your mobile knows your PIN, you will need your fingerprint or your face to enter the app to read the conversations.

Would you like to activate this new feature on your iPhone? The process is very simple and you just have to follow the steps that we leave you below:

~Open WhatsApp on your iPhone and go to the Settings

~Select the option Account> Privacy.

~Find the section Screen lock, located in the last place at the bottom of the screen.

~Check the Require Touch Touch/ Require Face ID box, which will appear depending on the features of iPhone.

~Indicates the time you have to spend to require this authentication method. It can be immediately, after 1 minute, after 15 minutes or after 1 hour.

After activating the new feature, the next time you enter WhatsApp you will have to allow the app to use Touch ID or Face ID, and from that moment the platform will require biometric authentication to access.
