How to Find or Track your Android mobile phone, stolen or lost in 2019

Cannot find your mobile? Do you think that they have stolen it and you want to find your lost mobile? We will tell you how to locate your smartphone remotely from any computer using the Android Device Manager and the settings of your Google account.

If you put your hand in your pocket or look in your bag you do not find your smartphone, after feeling great displeasure the first question that comes to your mind is how to locate your stolen or lost mobile.
The first thing we have to tell you is that, if you want to find your lost mobile, you should have made a series of previous settings on your phone beforehand. It is possible that you have already done it, but it is always better that you check it.
And what are these configurations? On the one hand, it is necessary that you have the location activated, which will allow you to locate the mobile remotely in case of loss or theft. To do this, go to Settings> Location> Activate location .
The next step is to check if the blocking options of ‘Locate this device remotely’ and ‘Allow remote deletion and blocking’ are active. To do this, go to Settings> Security> Device managers> Find my device.
Finally, and if one day you need it, it is interesting that if someday you have to report the theft of your smartphone to the police or your operator note the IMEI number, which you can find by entering on the keyboard  * # 06 # and dial.

Locate your lost or stolen mobile with Android Device Manager

If the moment that nobody wants arrives and you have lost your mobile, the most important thing is to stay calm and start the search tasks through the Android Device Manager. Before starting to look for your lost or stolen mobile you have to consider two things:
  • Make sure you’re on the right page: Do not let a fake page look authentic with your Google password. All you have to do is verify that the address of the browser bar is that of

  • It is normal that in the rush you cannot get home and have to log in to a computer that is not yours. If this is your case, you should use the incognito mode of Google Chrome. This way you make sure that there are no traces of your personal data and passwords.

Where is my lost smartphone?
From the moment you log in to Android Device Manager, the trace will begin. To do this, the phone will use the telephony antennas to which it is currently connected to triangulate an approximate position.
Keep in mind that using only the antennas, the margin of error of the phone’s position will be between 600 and 800 meters depending on your position, a margin that is reduced to only 20 meters if you have activated the G PS of the phone.

Of course, you have to know that if the phone is off or has been restored (to avoid this it is very important that you use some kind of pin or block pattern as long as you do not use the phone or have it stored), you will not be able to do anything.

Block, erase or locate your lost or stolen mobile ?

Now that you have on the map a more or less exact location of where the mobile is, you have several options at your disposal, including changing the name to the device by clicking on its name, knowing the IMEI by pressing “i”, or knowing the name of the WiFi to which it is connected in case it is turned on. However, the really interesting ones are just below and are the following:

  • Play sound: As the page warns you, if you press this button, your smartphone will start to sound at maximum volume for five minutes without interruption and even if it is silent unless you press the power button.
  • Lock device: When you lock the phone, your traditional home screen is replaced by a message and a contact phone. Whoever finds your smartphone will see that message and the phone, facilitating recovery. [Image: j17.png?resize=480%2C287]
  • Delete device data: EYE! Only in cases of emergency, only if you have confidential data and photos on your mobile phone that you do not want them to see. One thing you should keep in mind is that it does not affect what is stored on the SD memory card.

Locate your lost mobile from your Google account

Another method to find your lost Android mobile is to access the settings of your Google account from the browser. You just have to

 and enter your password.
Once inside your account, go to the Security option in the menu on the left, look for the section Your devices and then click on the button Find a lost or stolen phone. You will access a screen where you will find the same options described above to locate your lost mobile: ring, block and delete, and some other option, such as logging out of your Google account remotely (not advisable as you would stop can locate the phone) or check the recent activity of the terminal.

An interesting aspect of this method is also compatible for those iPhone that has a registered Google account, although this case the options are very limited because to locate an iPhone we must use “Find my iPhone” and iCloud.
Now that you know how to locate your lost or stolen Android phone, you only have to be very careful and not take your eyes off, in this way you will save yourself an upset and have to resort to these methods that we just told you about.
